چکیده

The superconducting flux dynamic of the transition metal carbide Sc3CoC4 which exhibits a quasi-one-dimensional structure is studied. Besides zero-field-cooling (zfc), field-cooling (fc) and magnetization measurements, especially flux creep relaxation experiments are performed. The relaxation rates S = dM/dlnt are determined at selected temperatures below the transition temperature Tc in two magnetic fields of 50 Oe and 100 Oe just above Hc1. The resulting supercurrent dependence on the mean activation energy is analyzed according to the collective pinning theory which predicts U ~ ((j/jc) –1). The calculated μ-values differ in the high and low temperature region. The μvalues below about 2.5 K are ≈ 0.5 0.68 depending slightly on the applied magnetic field whereas at higher temperatures the μ-values are ≈ 0.22 0.34. These results might indicate a transition between different types of vortex pinning around 2.5 K changing from single vortex creep at higher temperatures to collective creep of vortex bundles at lower temperatures. © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd. دینامیک شار در ابررسانای Y3Ba5Cu8O18

We have studied the thermally activated flux creep of a newly fabricated superconductor Y3Ba5Cu8O18 with the superconducting transition temperature 102 K. Analysis of the transition spread from the normal state to superconducting state in the electrical resistivity revealed that the thermally activated flux creep explains the electron share in the vicinity of the transition temperature Tc. The ...

Irreversibility and flux creep properties of the superconducting oxide La1.85Sr 0.15CuO4

Torque measurements on a ceramic sample of the oxide La-Sr-Cu-O give information on its superconducting properties. Under steady rotation of the magnetic field torque signals are observed which indicate rigid or viscous responses of the flux line structure depending on the magnetic history of the sample and the strength of the applied field. If the field is turned to a new direction at time zer...

Mechanisms of periodic pinning in superconducting thin films

We studied the changes in the superconducting properties of Nb films due to an array of Ni dots used as collective pinning sites. To determine the pinning mechanism, thin Ag layers of varying thicknesses were deposited on the Ni dots prior to the Nb film deposition. The Ag deposited on the pinning dots has little effect on the collective pinning phenomena, which implies that the main pinning me...

Flux penetration in a superconducting strip with an edge indentation

The flux penetration near a semicircular indentation at the edge of a thin superconducting strip placed in a transverse magnetic field is investigated. The flux front distortion due to the indentation is calculated numerically by solving the Maxwell equations with a highly nonlinear E j law. We find that the excess penetration can be significantly 50% larger than the indentation radius r0, in c...

Flux distribution in superconducting films with holes

Flux penetration into type-II superconducting films is simulated for transverse applied magnetic field and flux creep dynamics. The films contain macroscopic nonconducting holes, and we introduce the holes in the simulation formalism by reconstruction of the magnetic field change inside the holes. We find that the holes induce a region of reduced flux density extending toward the nearest sample...
